Whythis,whynow?
You've watched the videos, listened to the podcasts and read the articles and still have questions — real ones that you either don't know who to ask or don't feel comfortable asking.
Good. This is exactly where you belong.
Unpacked Community is where curious, thoughtful people go beyond the content — to sit with big questions about Israel, Judaism and the Jewish experience, and make sense of them together. No hot takes, no required answers. Just authentic engagement with people and material that actually want to go there.
Whatyou'llactuallydo.

EVP of OpenDor Media · Host of Unpacking Israeli History & Wondering Jews
Noam Weissman
Noam has spent his career trying to make complicated stuff about Israel and Judaism accessible without dumbing it down. A self-described "educator with a microphone" and "historian with an opinion", he is a big fan of nuance and complexity, and believes people deserve more than flattened narratives and recycled arguments. Noam's genuinely at his best when a conversation gets hard. He likes disagreement, he's frank to a fault, and he tends to answer the questions other people tiptoe around. In this community, Noam will be present every month: teaching, answering questions, listening, challenging, reflecting, and helping to cultivate the kinds of conversations Unpacked has always wanted to make possible.

Host of Unpacked videos · Amplified creator, That_Semite
Yirmiyahu Danzig
Yirmiyahu thinks like a historian and teaches like someone who genuinely wants you to understand. His work on Israel and Jewish thought is some of the most rigorous content Unpacked has ever produced. In a live setting, Yirmiyahu brings a depth and passion that simply can't be conveyed in a video, and has an educator's instinct for what people are really asking underneath the question they just asked, and the patience to help them make sense of it. Basically, he's the kind of educator you remember fondly decades later.

Unpacked Community Lead
Maayan Gordon
Maayan is helping build and guide the community itself — which means she'll be part educator, part host, part convener. She's an entrepreneur, creator, strategist, and above all a community-builder, with a keen sense for creating connection: for nurturing a group of strangers into a community. Maayan's job is to help make this space feel alive, thoughtful, welcoming, and maybe even a little magical: a place you'll want to spend time in. She'll help you find your way in, get acclimatised, introduce yourself, ask thought-provoking questions — and shape the kind of culture where serious discussion can happen without everyone becoming unbearable.
